Falcon Quill Yearbook Earns National Recognition

The 2025-26 and 2024-25 Flight and Falcon Quill staff were recently honored for their work. They were presented with the National Scholastic Press Association (NSPA) Leadership Award in Student Journalism; the 2025 yearbook, Together We Fly Far, was selected for inclusion in the Walsworth Publishing Company’s Possibilities book, Volume 11; and the 2026 yearbook is a Walsworth Gallery of Excellence winner.
National Scholastic Press Association Leadership Award in Student Journalism
This honor is presented to students who demonstrate sustained commitment to student media, serving with distinction for at least two years on the staff of an NSPA-member publication or media. Students must be in good academic standing and demonstrate journalistic excellence and staff leadership, while maintaining the high ethical standards outlined in the NSPA Model Code of Ethics. Walsworth Publishing Possibilities, Volume 11
According to the cover letter received from Walsworth, FWCD’s yearbook publisher: “The publishing team at Walsworth carefully reviews thousands of yearbooks for this prestigious, curated collection in search of programs that truly stand out, placing your students’ work in the top 10% of Walsworth customers. The creativity, leadership, and journalistic integrity evident throughout your book made it clear that yours was a publication worth celebrating. Producing a yearbook at this level requires vision, collaboration and countless hours of dedication. That effort shows on every page. Thank you for the passion you bring to telling your school’s story.” FWCD received a complimentary copy of the Possibilities book, as well as a banner to display in the classroom.
