FWCD Earns International School Stories Award

FWCD has been recognized in the 2026 School Stories Awards, sponsored by Interactive Schools, earning the Best Use of Vidigami award.
The awards celebrate schools around the world that use digital storytelling and media to capture and share the most meaningful moments of school life. The Best Use of Vidigami category highlights schools that create a rich, shared memory bank for their communities, using photos and videos to organize, preserve and celebrate school experiences.
Vidigami is FWCD’s online living “yearbook,” a visual legacy of the students and their activities through the years. Learn more about activating your account, logging in, and using Vidigami (with links to resources) at fwcd.org/vidigami.
FWCD’s winning submission showcased how Vidigami is used to document the everyday moments and milestones that make the community special, giving families a meaningful way to revisit school memories for years to come. A key piece of the entry focused on the photo upload links, which, in addition to being used by campus photographers, are also provided to faculty, staff and community members taking photos at events. These links give users an easy and direct upload option. Through the upload links, FWCD was able to collect over 20,000 photos last year and over 15,00 this year already and it’s the end of March. As a result, the School has been able to gather even more memories to share. Slideshows are regularly shared with the entire community via electronic newsletters, social media and the School’s website. Visit the Community Hub (fwcd.org/hub) to view all the slideshows created thus far for the year.
With the success of how well FWCD uses Vidigiami in a variety of ways, the platform allows the School to gain early access to new features and help them with feedback before anything is launched for all of the users. For example, FWCD was given early access to a tagging feature that clusters photos together and give feedback to fix any bugs before they announced it to all their users.
Fun Facts about Vidigami:
- Starting with the Class of 2027, photos in Vidigami will span a student’s entire K-12 journey.
- There are many ways to search for photos on Vidigami, including by name, so you can see all of the photos someone is tagged in throughout the years. Other ways to search include by event and class year.
- FWCD has over 500,000 media items uploaded to Vidigami since 2015-16, when the School began using the platform.
- Facial recognition makes it easy to tag faces, so names can be searched rather than searching each album.
