A Licensed School Counselor, Erin Elswood joins the FWCD community as our Middle School Health and Wellness Counselor. She has a wealth of experience supporting young people’s academic, social and emotional well-being. Erin’s career has included working in private, public and charter school communities. She most recently served as a Counselor at North Riverside Elementary in Keller ISD and as Lead Counselor at International Leadership of Texas schools in both Fort Worth and College Station. Erin holds an M.Ed. in Counseling and Development from Lamar University, is a Licensed Professional Counselor, and is certified in multiple teaching areas, including English Language Arts, Social Studies, Health, PE and ESL. Her counseling strengths include cognitive-behavioral approaches, specialization in ADHD, and a deep commitment to students across a variety of backgrounds. Erin also has extensive experience providing resources to collaborate with parents and teachers in creating individualized academic and wellness plans. Erin is the mother of four children between the ages of 8 and 15, which gives her a unique perspective on the joys and challenges of raising adolescents.
