With the big move to the Temporary Village on the horizon, the Lower School is partnering with The Welman Project to help supply their warehouse with items teachers no longer need. Lauren Watson, Welman’s Community Engagement Enthusiast, spoke with the students and their teachers about the organization’s mission to “Fill a Classroom, not a Landfill.”

As teachers clean out and pack up their classrooms, the fourth graders will help box up any items they no longer want or use and take them to Welman’s warehouse, where they will help organize those items as part of their service learning project. The Welman Project serves as a free resource, distributing surplus materials from local companies, schools and organizations for creative reuse in the classroom and beyond.
