FWCD’s Parent Faculty Association awarded DeAnn Hall with the November 2025 Falcon Wings honor. Falcon Wings recognize PFA volunteers, FWCD teachers or staff who soar above and beyond the call of duty to enhance PFA programs or events or have improved the greater FWCD community by their dedication and enthusiasm. A book was donated to the library in her honor.

Allison Cobb, Falcon Wings Chair, shared the following words from members of the FWCD community at the November 17 PFA meeting:

From Landry Moore ’30

Coach Hall is the BEST coach ever! She has inspired and encouraged me to continue pitching throughout my middle school years. She started being my coach in fourth grade whenever I started to pitch. She not only made me a better pitcher, but also made me fall in love with softball even more. Being in the circle can be a lonely place, but Coach Hall taught me to be resilient. She always has the biggest smile and most positive attitude that makes all her kiddos love her. She will make your day with her greetings and warmness. I am so grateful to get to know her while just starting my softball career because, truly, she has made a huge impact on my life. Thank you, Coach Hall, for being the most supportive, uplifting coach. You are so amazing and kind to everyone! Thank you, and the FWCD community loves you so much!

From Coach Lizzie Sell

Coach Hall is the kind of dedicated, encouraging, and hardworking leader every program dreams of having. She pours her heart into volleyball practice, and before you know it, she’s out on the softball field, smoothing the infield on the groomer without missing a beat. Her kindness shows in the way she supports every athlete, and her enthusiasm shines through in her constant smile. She even volunteered for the PFA dunk tank at Carnival, cheering on every kid and urging them to swing harder to dunk her – turning it into another moment of fun and encouragement. Thank you, Coach Hall, for teaching me to be a better coach and a better human simply by watching your daily example. It’s clear you genuinely love what you do, and your passion makes you not just a wonderful coach but an inspiring example for everyone around you.

From the Middle School Softball Team

Coach Hall is really good at making sports feel fun but also competitive, which makes me love softball so much.

I love the way she connects with her students and makes us laugh and feel included. She’s so supportive, and even though she’s only been coaching me for maybe a month, I’ve loved having her as a coach.

I like how she cares very much about the team and is very patient when helping us get better.
