“I am thrilled for these students and proud of their accomplishments this first semester, “ said Upper School Photography Teacher Emily Arnold. “I can’t wait to see their work develop in the future.”

Arnold also entered a portfolio and a short experimental film, titled “White Noise,” in the faculty competitions this year. The film placed second, and the portfolio placed third. “I was actually hesitant to submit this work because it’s quite personal and avant-garde. I wasn't sure how images on film and mixed media would be received in relation to digital work, she said. “However, I think it is important for students to see their teachers creating alongside them and confronting feelings of vulnerability by putting art into the world. This particular work that I submitted explores identity and motherhood.”
