FWCD’s cheerleaders and Falcon Fury drumline brought the Sid W. Richardson Round Gym to life with cheers, dance routines and percussion stylings. The crowd witnessed a one-time-only performance of Dancing with the Falcons, as faculty and staff partnered with varsity cheerleaders to showcase their dance moves. Lower School PE Teacher and Wrestling Program Director Hugo Muñoz and Martha Wynn Senter ’27 took home the mirrorball trophy. Thanks to the cheer team’s mentorship and choreography, the senior boys kept the Senior Cheer tradition alive as they performed a fun routine that wowed the audience.
Assistant Head of Upper School Paula Weatherholt and the Class of 2027 Student Council announced the 2025 Homecoming Court, which comprised Nate Blan, Canaan Factor, Cal Neubauer, Fulton Weaver, Jack Wegman, Adelaide Butler, Skylar De Luca, Lydia Gaydosik, Gigi Helling and Eleanor Holm.
Afternoon alumni events included a campus tour with Director of Admission and Enrollment Caroline Corpening Lamsens ’99, the Current and Former Faculty and Staff Reception and an Open House in the new Alumni Nest.
Upper School students carried on a time-honored Homecoming tradition, donning mums for a football game. The senior class gathered on the track moments before kickoff to sing the National Anthem. The Falcons defeated Houston Christian (32-20), securing their spot in the SPC Championship for the first time since 2019. At halftime, Alumni Athletes from the Class of 2020 who played college athletics were honored. Present were Kenzi Carter, who played basketball at Tulane University and Emory University; Chris Edwards, a soccer player at Yale University; and Ozzie Fleischer, who played baseball at Tufts University. Stephen Murrin, who played football at Washington and Lee University, and Allie Stewart, who played soccer at Angelo State University, were honored but unable to attend. The 2025 Homecoming Court was presented, with parents joining their students on the field, and Gigi Helling was named Queen and Caanan Factor was named King.
The fun continued on Saturday as FWCD welcomed alumni to campus for a special art class with Upper School Photography Teacher Emily Arnold and Upper School Ceramics Teacher Jerry Mahle. Throughout the class, alumni had the opportunity to try out three different art projects and get a taste of what Upper School visual arts classes are like today. The remainder of the day included festive class reunions and the Upper School Homecoming dance.
Throughout Homecoming weekend, FWCD spirit was amplified across Fort Worth, serving as a testament to the power of Falcon pride, community, and friendships that last a lifetime.
