Congratulations to the 30 Music Conservatory students who performed in their end-of-the-year recital on Sunday, April 27. Music teachers and students spend the fall semester learning music and acclimating to private lessons, while the spring semester finds students more comfortable and ready to perform solo. “Individual music lessons do so much more than just help students learn to play an instrument. Through private lessons in the Music Conservatory, students learn to focus while building confidence, accept instructor feedback while developing perseverance, and discover new opportunities for creativity and self-expression,” said Melissa Scott, FWCD Music Conservatory Director. “These recitals gave the students a chance to demonstrate the progress they have made. Perfection is not the goal; instead, students are encouraged to enjoy performing. I love celebrating each student’s progress and seeing the smiles on the faces of the students, instructors, parents and guests.”
