FWCD’s Parent Faculty Association awarded Technology Specialist Trim Rowan with the Falcon Wings honor at their meeting in February. Falcon Wings recognize PFA volunteers, FWCD teachers or staff who soar above and beyond the call of duty to enhance PFA programs or events, or have improved the greater FWCD community through their dedication and enthusiasm.

After honorably serving our country in the United States Army, Trim joined the FWCD Technology Department in 2015, where he masterfully supports the community as a Technology Specialist.

Dr. Steve Uhr, Director of Technology, describes Trim as a quiet and humble man, who is always willing to help every student, teacher, administrator and parent.

Recently, Trim’s talent was on full display at the PFA Bingo event. Bingo Co-chair Elizabeth Humble nominated Trim for the Falcon Wing honor and had the following to say:

“He soared above and beyond the call of duty…that just encapsulates everything about my experience working with Trim during and leading up to Lower School Bingo. From answering any and all tech questions with a smile to proactively anticipating needs and following through before we could even blink, Trim was the true hero of the night. As we moved to a more tech-heavy Bingo – laptops and projectors and screens for the Bingo action, iPads and tripods and apps for the photo booth – Trim was there to make sure all of it was perfect. He wouldn’t settle for anything but perfection.

“Trim is all over the FWCD campus solving problems and educating the community on all things tech,” Humble continued. “During his much-deserved free time during the school day, Trim is often seen eating lunch with groups of students in the FDP or out on the fields during recess in the middle of a soccer game with them. His complete dedication to every aspect of Fort Worth Country Day is admirable, and we are a better school because of him.”

The library book dedicated in Trim’s honor is Minecraft for Beginners by Mojang AB for all aspiring Technology Specialists in the making!
