Fort Wonder and Falcon Sports Camps were back in action this summer! With 2,077 enrollments, it was a record-breaking year. Director of Auxiliary Programs Michael Carmody assembled a dream team of 30 Fort Wonder Lead Counselors, Assistant Counselors, and Camp Administrators and a total of 230 camp staff and volunteers. Campers could choose from 33 Fort Wonder Specialty Camps, 21 Falcon Sports Camps, and 12 Wonderweek camps.

Themes for the full-day Wonderweek camps were Museum Mystery, Aviation Academy, Wonder Games 2021, Kitchen Creations, Secret Agent Spy Squad, Entrepreneurs Inc., Global Explorers, Fantastic Forensics, Alpine Adventures, S.T.E.M. Design Duel, Treasure Quest, and Wilderness Challenge.

New at Fort Wonder in 2021: Bottle Badges, Wonder Bands, and Fort Wonder Catch Club.

“Bottle Badges are prizes to recognize campers who displayed our five core camper character traits at all full-day Wonderweek Camps at Fort Wonder,” Carmody said. “These special collectible stickers were made for campers to display on their water bottles.” Each Bottle Badge came in traditional Fort Wonder red, blue, and white colors, as well as in special holographic editions (for exceptional achievements). Bottle Badges were awarded for creativity, kindness, wisdom, strength and spirit.

Wonder Bands were special camper prizes that were earned for achievements during all Wonderweek Camps. These branded silicone wristbands came in 72 collectible color combinations, allowing campers to pursue and display their favorite variants over the course of the summer. Wonder Bands were the perfect prizes for contests and general recognition of camper achievements. Counselors distributed Wonder Bands for the wonderful things their campers do throughout the day

“Reeling in a fish is a big accomplishment at Fort Wonder! Each time a camper (or a staff member!) successfully caught a fish at the pond, they received special recognition on Fort Wonder’s social media channels, and they were presented with a limited edition “Fort Wonder Catch Club” pin, commemorating their achievement for all to see,” Carmody noted.

So many Wonderful memories were made on campus this summer!
