Saturday, September 24, was Fort Worth Day in the District. Ten cultural destinations offered free admission and many of Fort Worth’s cultural organizations offered free performances in and around each destination. Twenty-one members from FWCD’s National Art Honor Society took part in the event, visiting the city’s three art museums: Amon Carter Museum of American Art, the Kimbell Art Museum and the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth.
Upper School Art Teachers LaurenCunningham and KendallDavis joined the students. “This was an opportunity for art students to connect with each other outside of the classroom, see artworks in a variety of media, and meet other art students who may not be in their classes,” Cunningham said. “It was also nice to meet the art students that I don't teach.”
