A Day in the Life of Teachers

7:15 a.m.—Arrival: Teachers arrive on campus and set up classrooms.

7:45 a.m.—Morning Huddle with staff: Teachers meet in the morning for morning announcements and prepare the daily cheer for student arrival.

8 a.m.—Students arrive; teachers cheer as students come in: B-B-B-R-E! A-A-A-K-T! H-R-O! U-G-H! BREAKTHROUGH! 

8-8:35 a.m.—Breakfast and Word Challenge: Teachers sit with their study buddy groups and work with students to learn SAT vocabulary words in the weekly Word Challenge.

8:40-9:35 a.m.—First Period/Department Meeting 

9:40-10:35 a.m.—Second Period/Department Meeting

10:40-10:50 a.m.--Team Time/Snack Time: Teachers spend a short break with their team and enjoy a snack before either teaching their two class periods or attending their department meeting.

10:55-11:50 a.m.—Third Period/Department Meeting

11:55 a.m.-12:50 p.m.—Fourth Period/Department Meeting

12:55-1:20 p.m.—Lunch: Teachers sit with students and enjoy a meal

1:25-1:50 p.m.—All-School Meeting: A time for the Breakthrough community to come together in laughter and fun to listen to announcements, celebrate one another and learn cool new things.

1:55-2:25 p.m.—Study Buddies: This is the time for teachers to make sure that their study buddies have all of their homework assignments written for the evening and provide answers to questions that they may have.

2:30-3:15 p.m.—Clubs: Do you like ultimate Frisbee? Do you like watching and studying movies? Do you like creating your own storyboard and filming? Clubs is the time for students and teachers to participate in fun activities after a day of hard work!

3:20-4 p.m.—Flex: This is a time for teachers to bond with their team or complete team projects.

4-4:10 p.m.—Dismissal

4:15-5:45 p.m.—Afternoon Routine with Staff: Teaching fellows participate in various professional developments, committee meetings, team meetings and full staff meetings before leaving for the day!
