List of 4 items.

  • Testing and Supplemental Documents

    • Age-normed Readiness Assessment
Students applying for junior kindergarten will take the Kaufman Test of Educational Achievement | Third Edition (KTEA™-3 Brief) and the Kaufman Brief Intelligence Test Second Edition (KBIT-2). These tests are individually administered and are a measure of achievement in reading, math, written and oral language and verbal and nonverbal ability.

Junior kindergarten admission testing is individually administered and scheduled Monday-Friday in the morning. If you are testing at Fort Worth Country Day, we will contact you to schedule an appointment on our campus with Lucy Biggs, former FWCD Kindergarten teacher and admission representative. While your child is enjoying “good work” with Mrs. Biggs, current kindergarten parent volunteers will visit with you about volunteer opportunities, carpool, school uniforms, field trips and more.

    • Preschool Recommendation
The Preschool Teacher recommendation will be sent to your child’s preschool and returned directly to FWCD. If applying to more than one school, the school that is administering the individual assessment will share a copy of the testing and recommendation with the other applicant schools.
  • Classroom Visit

    Group Observation

During the 90-minute group observation, applicants will rotate in small groups with our Kindergarten and First Grade teachers. New parents and first-child alumni parents are invited to participate in an informational session on campus.
