Middle School Wrestlers Head to State

Wrestling Coaches Hugo Muñoz and Randy Gonzales led the Falcons to a fantastic team showing on January 24 and 25 at the Texas Middle School State Tournament. The competition featured 662 wrestlers representing 50 public and private schools.
Seven different seventh- and eighth-grade wrestlers scored points for FWCD, which helped the team finish ahead of several other SPC rivals, including St. Mark's School of Texas, Kincaid School, The Oakridge School and Trinity Valley School.
Individually, the Falcons showed very well with two eighth-grade wrestlers placing in state. Luke Tierce placed fifth in state for his weight class, and Teeg Crumley went undefeated through his 48-wrestler bracket to finish second in his championship match.
Congratulations to the Middle School Wrestling Team for a great season.
