Nine FWCD Artists at 2018 Congressional Art Show


Seven of Lauren Cunningham’s Painting and Drawing Students – Grace Bobo ’21, Karina Cedillo ’20, Payton Childress ’19, Isabel Garza ’21, Julia Petsche ’20 , Gabby Pettit ’21, and Campbell Robinson ’19 – plus two of Sil Azevedo’s Photography students – Brendan O’Connell ’18 and Rachel Ellman ’19 – exhibited artworks in the 2018 Congressional Art Show. The reception took place on March 24 at the Tarrant County College River Campus.
 
Each spring, a nation-wide high school arts competition is sponsored by the Members of the U.S. House of Representatives. The Artistic Discovery Contest is an opportunity to recognize and encourage the artistic talent in the nation, as well as in our Congressional District, the 12th District of Texas. Kay Granger represents the 12th District in the U.S. House of Representatives. The Artistic Discovery Contest is open to all high school students in our district.
