MFG Day is a celebration of modern manufacturing meant to inspire the next generations of manufacturers. Local manufacturers invite their communities—students, educators, business people, media and politicians—to their facilities in a collective effort to educate visitors about manufacturer career opportunities and to improve public perceptions of manufacturing. Started in 2012, MFG Day has increased its participation levels dramatically. Manufacturers in all 50 states and in Puerto Rico have consistently participated in MFG Day. In 2016, MFG Day drew 595,341 participants, including 267,607 students.
