Seniors Brush Up on the Interview Skills

Be yourself … have a conversation … ask questions … make connections … show your interest … These tips and more were part of FWCD’s second Senior Interview Day! On Saturday, September 16, 23 FWCD seniors gathered in the Upper School to sharpen their interviewing skills in preparation for upcoming college admission interviews.
Each student received feedback as a group and individually following his/her two 20-minute interviews. The success of this annual event is attributed to the 11 volunteer interviewers who are members of the FWCD community, including the Board of Trustees, parents and school administrators. This year, the College Counseling Office also tapped the assistance of two college admission representatives, Danae Frost from Hope College in Michigan, and Sean Lewis from the University of Dayton in Ohio. Students who took advantage of this opportunity were Ben Beckman, Lexa Brenner, Sam Carlile, Kat Clum, Catherine Cravens, Brett Crumbie, Nikhil De, Alex Gibbs, Griffin Grubbs, Helen Holloway, Christina Kelly, Dominique Madrid, Lance Mayhue, Westen Mulqueen, Mack Newberry, Megan Park, Ben Parker, Hannah Peebles, Lily Peters, Harris Podell, Ajaz Syed, Turner Symonds and Meredith Thomas.
Thank you to the following members of the FWCD community who served as interviewers:
Michael Dike, Russ Fleischer, Gynna Harlin, Debra Lombardi, Eric Lombardi, Meg Martin, Jane Nober, Brad Philipson and Peter Tunnard.
