Graduation 2017

Tonight, 100 Fort Worth Country Day seniors will graduate at McKinney Church, 4805 Arborlawn Drive. The ceremony, which begins promptly at 7 p.m., will be live-streamed at fwcd.org/graduation or mckinneychurch.yourstreamlive.com (the links will be live at the time of the event) for family and friends who are out of town or unable to attend. This year’s valedictorian is Karena Kett; Conner Williams is salutatorian. Brian Farda is this year’s faculty speaker.

At the end of the ceremony, students will process through a faculty receiving line and enter the reception through the far fellowship hall called the “Hub.” Parents are welcome to wait for their students in the foyer, hallway or in the “Hub” of McKinney Church. Graduates (in their gowns) and their families will then enjoy a cookie and punch reception. Following the reception, students may change upstairs (remember, there is no need to turn in the cap/gown) and pack up all their belongings to pass off to a parent prior to boarding the buses for the overnight event.

This year’s class of 100 students garnered more than $10.4 million in merit-based scholarships and awards and were accepted into 114 different colleges and universities. Here’s a sneak peek of the FWCD Class of 2017 ad that will appear in the Sunday, May 14, issue of the Star-Telegram. To learn more about the Class of 2017 and their accolades, click here.

A video of the livestream of graduation will be available on the FWCD website on Monday, May 15, for those who could not be part of the live ceremony or those who wish to rewatch it.
