Choir

Middle School Choir

The Fort Worth Country Day choral program provides exceptional choral instruction in addition to performance opportunities that foster personal creativity, expression and social development.
  • Grade 5: By learning the foundation of the language of music, students can better appreciate both the music they hear as well as the music they create.
  • Grade 6: By combining the foundational knowledge of music with repetition and physical development, students learn how their efforts can translate into continued growth both as an individual vocalist and as an ensemble.
  • Grade 7: By identifying and demonstrating their foundational knowledge of music, students learn to convey emotion through their performances and better understand its importance in our society.
  • Grade 8: By thinking critically and applying their music literacy knowledge, students create a stronger ensemble and understand music as a language while valuing its civic role.

Upper School Choir

Upper School Choir offers a challenging opportunity for students to perform and compete at a high level. Each student is given opportunities to expand his/her vocal ability through a steady approach of choral challenges, including vocal exercises, and preparing appropriate music for concerts, musicals, and competitions. A rich variety of thought-provoking literature exposes students to a broader range of music with more demanding vocal techniques.
