Junior Attends HOBY Texas North Seminar

Riley Holmes ’28 attended the Hugh O’Brian Youth Leadership (HOBY) Texas North Seminar this summer at the University of Dallas. More than 150 sophomore students from across North Texas participated in the seminar, which provides students with opportunities to explore leadership and develop the skills needed to make a positive impact in their communities.

Throughout the seminar, Holmes participated in activities and discussions focused on three areas of leadership: personal leadership, including an exploration of personal values; group leadership, including how to be an effective member of a team; and societal leadership, including ways to make a difference in one’s community. HOBY with the knowledge, skills and passion to become engaged leaders and make a positive impact on the world around them. Each year, the FWCD Upper School nominates an emerging leader to participate in this nationally recognized program.
