FWCD Transitions to Scoir: Enhancing the College Search Experience

Leading with the goals of simplifying the college admission process, expanding collegiate access, and improving student outcomes, Scoir, a college guidance and management platform, launched with its first high school partner in 2016. As of mid-2026, more than 2,200 high schools across the United States use Scoir, serving approximately one in eight U.S. high schools.

“Today’s students don’t use Google to discover things,” said Scoir Co-founder Gerry McCrory. Designed with today’s digital-native students in mind, Scoir offers an intuitive interface that engages students while creating a more dynamic network for exploring colleges and universities.

Over the past decade, Scoir has earned a strong reputation among both students and college counseling professionals, emerging as a leader in the increasingly crowded college counseling platform market because of its continued investment in the student experience and responsive customer service.

After many successful years with Naviance, FWCD’s College Counseling team has elected to transition to Scoir, joining many peer independent schools. The decision follows Scoir’s successful integration with the Common Application during the 2025-26 academic year. Through this integration, students’ prospective college lists automatically sync with their Common App activity, allowing College Counselors to know when and where students have submitted applications through the nation’s most widely used college application platform.

Beginning in August, FWCD seniors, juniors, and their parents and guardians will begin using Scoir. Students will be introduced to the platform through College Counseling class, while parents and guardians will eventually be invited to create their own Scoir accounts through a streamlined registration process that is simpler than the previous Naviance registration experience.

Students will be able to access Scoir through both a web browser and a mobile app, making it easy to research colleges, organize application materials, monitor deadlines, and receive guidance on building a balanced college list that includes reach, target and likely schools. Parents and guardians can continue to follow their student’s college search and application journey through their own Scoir accounts.

Behind the scenes, FWCD’s College Counseling Office will continue to submit transcripts electronically, the School profile, and letters of recommendation; collect admission data; and manage the College Representative visit calendar that connects our students with admission professionals from around the world.

While the technology is changing, our philosophy is not. Scoir provides a more modern platform that will allow the FWCD College Counseling team to continue delivering the personalized guidance and individualized support that have long been the hallmark of the college counseling experience.
